Garden care is a huge and ever-growing part of household responsibilities. But there is one thing that really holds us back from being happy with the way we look and feel in our gardens. It’s the unsightly weeds.
Weeds can seriously mess up your garden. They can block the sunlight and cause your plants to turn yellow. They also make your plants have a dull appearance. And if you’re like me, you will be spending quite a bit of time in and around your garden just trying to get rid of those weeds.

It can get really tiring. So I have a few ideas on how to deal with the weeds:
A good place to start is to think about using natural ways to get rid of them. You can try to dig your weeds up to get them out of the ground but this could be a big mistake. Keep your fingers crossed that you did dig up an onion and not realize later that you were actually eating the roots of weeds.
There are some herbs that are effective at keeping them at bay, but they are required to be used over and over again. Most herbs are easy to grow yourself so you can try this first. For example, you can try using garlic oil to keep them at bay.
Thinning your lawn can also help. You can use a lawn edger to thin it out and remove some of the weeds. You should try this in early spring before they start growing again.
A mulching system is also very helpful for the long-term control of those ugly things that seem to be poking through the grass. You can buy a commercial mulching system for a couple of hundred dollars or try a homemade mulch like pine needles.

If you have big bushy things in your yard that is really large and out of control, you may use a weed whacker or rake to carefully remove them. There are two attachments on a weed whacker or rake that can be used to slowly remove those nasty things from your yard.
Since we’ve talked about garden care, how about finding a good gardening book to read that will teach you how to deal with garden weeds.
